Pseudo-3D CFD Buffeting of the Great Belt Bridge

The animation shows buffeting of the Great Belt Bridge, which has been simulated using a Turbulent Pseudo-3D Vortex Method, considering wind effects only on the deck with synthetic random free-stream turbulence. Six representative CFD planes are shown out of fifty considered along the deck.

The deterministic free-stream turbulence is generated using my in-house code VXturb and the CFD solver is Guido Morgenthal’s VXflow.
